Bad Homburg cannot guarantee a “white” Advent and Christmas, but it can provide an extremely atmospheric setting for the period.
And one which is full of programs and attractions. For example, there is the “Christmas Forest” in front of the Kurhaus, which is open daily until evenings. Cute wooden huts amidst pine trees offer tempting culinary delights, while a festively decorated tent hosts all kinds of events for young and old. There is, above all, the “Romantic Christmas Market” that fully deserves its name, set as it is against the magnificent backdrop of the Landgraves’ Castle. It even ranks as one of the 50 loveliest Christmas markets in Germany. Some 90 huts offering everything your heart desires line up from Schlossplatz up to the upper courtyard in the Castle. A proper little steam train circuits the White Tower, and the crib with its larger-than-life figures reminds us of the Christian origins of Christmas. The “Romantic Christmas Market” is open on all Advent weekends.
